Mass Illegal Migration Near Former Serbonian Bog Zone

GRR News Staff

Former Serbonian Bog, Egypt - One week ago, animals who called Egypt's beautiful Bog Area "home" fell asleep near the body of water that made their happy lives possible. When they woke the next morning, their situation had forever changed. Today many are beginning to take desperate measures to keep their families alive. Situated on the 31st parallel at longitude 33.2188889, the Serbonian Bog, separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a thin strip of land, disappeared overnight to the confusion of every animal on earth.

"A giant, empty sand pool now sits where we used to have a Bog," environmentalist hippo Susan Suez told GRR. "My colleagues and I are of a mind that the Bog simply got tired of being a bog, so to speak, and simply went out to sea. Just crossed that breakwater and joined the Mediterranean." Suez and others admit they do not have proof that the bog jumped the breakwater, but says they are working around the clock to find out. The Bog's migration, Suez notes, is an apt metaphor for the thousands of animals who are now border crossing to save their lives.

GRR News's Egypt bureau received an email from a shorebird who wished to remain anonymous. She had lived in the Bog Area for nearly five years, and was just as shocked as the others to find her neighborhood gone without warning. She and her family, like thousands of others, have been forced to find a new place to live. The problem is, the Bog was unique, and nothing in the area closely represents its atmosphere. The shorebird wrote to GRR: "We can go west and live in the city, east and live in a territorial warzone, north to the Mediterranean, or south to the desert. We are small bog creatures, we don't want a massive body of salt water, nor do we want the cities. What choice do we have but to try to make our lives in the desert?"

Many animals are migrating from the former Serbonian Bog -
even if they have to skirt the law to do so.

The Allied Fauna Nations High Commissioner for Migrators \(AFNHCM\) has reported that thousands of birds, mammals, and reptiles are on the move south, even though they have no rights for passage through the rough, fruitless, often violent terrain, nor do they have any idea where they will stay once they stop moving. AFNHCM spokesduck Angelina Muscovy told GRR that the agency is doing what it can to offer the animals resources as they migrate, but that every animal around the world needs to chip in to do his or her part to help. "We need bedding, mud, water, nesting materials," Muscovy urged. Muscovy has publicly implored candidate Ptolemy to "take responsibility for his own kind," and to "remember his roots in this time of great need."

Ptolemy's office has not returned GRR's calls.

The AFNHCM is also in desperate need of pay items. Leaves for trade, stocks, other resources.

She's cute but she's not that great. She was horrible in Nest Raider. Cute, but horrible.

What I don't understand about this whole situation is why the animals on the Bog don't just swallow their cud and move to the Mediterranean. I've never been to the ocean or any sea, so what do I know? But I've read a LOT and know that this Mediterranean is supposed to be really beautiful. I can't imagine they couldn't find happiness there. I mean, what's in the desert? A bunch of stupid turtles and scorpions?
-Sylvia, cow, U.K.

What's your problem, Sylvia? Why all the hating on turtles?
